Anyway my suggestion is therefore to add that to the README. Feel free to do / not do and close the issue.

Same thing for docs, slides etc.. I was surprised at first, but it actuallly makes sense. They have a different icon in your drive than excel. There is not "local"...

It is a bit old, but I was just checking this and noted teh same thing: as I modify a local file, and it subsequently sync with grive, Google Drive...
