No svg import option?

Hello, how are you. This is a great application! I just came across it today. Was wondering is it possible to import svg? And if not... Why???

@L2L2L It used to have an export SVG function, but had to be disabled in order to fix the inner structure of the program.

SVG Import / Export Is planned to be brought back in the feature roadmap, but it's difficult to say when this will happen due to the limited human resources we count with.

If you know someone who's skilled with C++ and the QT framework for programming, and if they are interested in helping out, it would be awesome to help bring these important features back to the program

Just wanted to highlight that I considered pencil2d but had to uninstall it and will have to search for an alternative as soon as I discovered it cannot import SVG vector graphics. Creating vector graphics is much better with inkscape, and so this was a blocking feature for me.

Even if we had basic SVG support, there's still a big chance that whatever you would be able to create with a proper vector software, Pencil2D wouldn't be able to support those features. The SVG spec is pretty big and it varies a lot what features are supported, even among commercial vector applications.

Pencil2D was never meant to be used for vector editing in the same vein as Inkscape or Affinity. The goal has always been to be something that's similar to Flash. When that's said, the Vector engine is not something we're actively working on right now, therefore I'd say it makes sense to move to something like Inkscape for your needs :)

Thanks for checking out the software nonetheless.
