Issue description

On polars V1.17, our tests fail

Reproducible example

Run the tests on V1.17

Expected behavior

We should rerun the tests periodically on new Polars releases until it's fixed, then remove the hard dependency tie to 1.16 and exclude 1.17 from the dependencies

Installed versions

Replace this line with the output of pdstools.show_versions(), leave the backticks in place
