Discord seems to use [Hiragino Sans](https://www.maisfontes.com/hiragino-sans-gb-w3) for japanese. We could try to use that as a fallaback for characters that Whitney doens't support.

Discord seems to use a mix of hiragana and kanji (which should have been displayed in the screenshot above), so I guess it should affect Katakana too.

How are we placing the icon in the image? Does this problem have something to do with sharp not being able to fetch the icon? Do we use base64?

It being a squircle instead of a full circle is intentional, as that's how Discord displays invites afaik. Is the issue about the black background on the transparent parts?

Can you send me the server icon from that widget you're rendering? I see that a transparent portion of the icon is black, that should be easy to fix, but...

I believe i tried that when originally developing invidget, but ended up not doing it due to the lack of a good library to convert it. Most libraries wouldn't render...
