Lack of Duplex Support in the Brother MFC-7340

Open PFleur opened this issue 6 months ago • 1 comments

I am using Arch Linux with CUPS 2:2.4.12-2 and the latest version of brlaser through the AUR brlaser-git packege (listed version as 6.2.7.r4.gfc56287-1). All print functions except duplex printing appear to work, is there any way to get my printer to use brlaser's duplex printing? lpinfo:

lpinfo --include-schemes usb -l -v
Device: uri = usb://Brother/MFC-7340?serial=000F9N228238
        class = direct
        info = Brother MFC-7340
        make-and-model = Brother MFC-7340
        device-id = MFG:Brother;CMD:PJL,HBP;MDL:MFC-7340;CLS:PRINTER;
        location =

According to the printer model number provided, you have a simplex (non-duplex) printer.

You'll only be able to print double-sided manually; eg. print even pages, flip, print odd pages...

Note: This is a physical limitation, the printer does not physically have the capability to duplex.
