@rkrishnasanka I couldn't find any documentationion of how to use the CLI to generate the code, could you maybe share how you did it?

Difficulty updating submodule versions

Okay, I think I've solved it, issue was related to having the river cmd installed as a tool and not updated. Updating it on the indirect dependencies did the trick
