Car only opens if watch screen is active
I am using a Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 on Wear OS 5.0 / One-UI 6.0 Watch and Tesla Wear Key Version 1.3.7 (Playstore-Version).
Recently Samsung provided an update for the watch which contained some power optimizing, which works as follows: If I have the watch on my wrist and turn it towards me the screen powers on (normal feature on Wear OS), but once I tilt my wrist back the screen immediately turns off. Before this update it used to stay on until the normal screen timeout occured.
The tesla wear key app (or the NFC function in general?) however does only work while the screen is on. This leads to the problem, that its now really hard to unlock the car at the b-pillar or at the car console as this needs the arm to be tilted away from me.
The workaround is to open the tesla wear key app in foreground, but this is not a good usage flow for each time I lock or unlock the car.
Any advice or possibility to keep NFC or respectively the app active while the screen is off?
I pushed a new version targeting the new Android SDK, it may help with this issue. If the new version gets up to the Play Store, I will reach here ASAP.

New version is released, I tested with following devices
- Pixel Watch 2 (Android 15, wearOS 5.1)
- Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (Android 14, wearOS 5.0, BXK1)
- Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (Android 14, wearOS 5.0, BYD1)
- Galaxy Watch 6 (Android 14, wearOS 5.0, BYD1)
They can work under screen lock, please check the new version on the Play Store.
