Since there's a couple of different installation steps, it would be easier to have this on conda-forge.

Yes that will be great @pbugnion!

I'd also appreciate having it available via conda!

Currently you install via pip, enable the extension and then rebuild JupyterLab. How would having this on conda-forge simplify the install process?

How would having this on conda-forge simplify the install process? https://www.anaconda.com/understanding-conda-and-pip/

  1. Easier management of venvs
  2. No build step/toolchain required (conda packages are binaries already) (note, I haven't checked how jupyterlab-sql build chain looks like, so can't say if it's any difference)
  3. jupyterlab-sql will be discoverable in conda registry (for people who added conda-forge channel) and able to be managed through Conda Package Manager GUI
  4. /profit
