Notation difference between breakDown and SHAP method
This might be a trivial question, but I am asking this for my own clarity. In Equation 6.5, the variable-importance measure associated with the breakDown analysis is given as $v(j,\underline{x}*)$. In Equation 8.1, the Shapley value is defined as $\varphi(\underline{x}, j)$. Is there a specific reason for the two arguments (j,\underline{x}_) to be flipped in the two equations? Thanks.
@prasven thank you for catching this inconsistency
in this case the order of the arguments does not matter, the specified value is determined for the variable j for the observation x_*
I will try to make this notation more consistent
