Add better examples in the documentation and discuss potential timing issues

Following the discussion in #37 , we need to substitute the current big_O examples in the documentation with new ones that are not so sensitive to the state of the machine they are running on.

Also, we need to add a paragraph discussing the situations in which the time measurements are likely to be too noisy to be meaningful.
