File/directory operations improvements
Directory can be renamed by double click. But nobody know's about it. Please show in menu. File/Note can't be renamed - this is required.
Directory can't be moved into other directory. Please make "Move directory to subfolder =>" like "Move notes to subfolder".
Thank you for your suggestion. Notes will be renamed when you change the headline of it (unless you set that you can change the filename regardless of the headline in the settings).

Wouldn't that clutter the menu? There are already three ways to create a new note.
Note context menu are quite cluttered really. Drag'n'drop to folder/tags could remove at least 4 items from it.
I just find it strange that deleting note is in one context menu and making new one is in another one.
I didn't like the drag and drop experience, it made selecting folders/tags horrible and I did all kind of stuff by accident.
Maybe it can be fine-tuned somehow. Some delays maybe. Dolphin file manager got it ok, so the app can too.
17.06.6
- there now new context menu entries in the note list
- a

the other menu entries will take more time because of tag handling...
There now is a new release, could you please test it and report if it works for you?
Works for me. I can turn off "note search" now and use only 2 or 3 panes.
I'd prefer if there was a pop-up windows for a new note name though, like the one for sub-folder name. If none given it could use default one.
Great, thank you for testing! Well, meanwhile you can still just edit the headline. ;)
I use "different name" option, so I have to rename a note each time. Making two actions, which require some cursor marksmanship, instead of one teaches me of patience and persistency.
Now menu is ok. If renaming option disabled please show alert on "rename" with message Please change name in top of document or disable option "Allow note file name to be different from headline"
because nobody know how it's work.
Unsolved: Directory can't be moved into other directory. Please make "Move directory to subfolder =>" like "Move notes to subfolder".
- that's a good idea
- that's not done yet. it's a lot of work because of the tagging mechanism
17.07.3
- you now get a warning if you try to rename a note in the note list to enable
the option to allow the note filename to be different from the headline if
you haven't allowed it yet
- there is a button to directly open the General settings in the warning dialog
There now is a new release, could you please test it and report if it works for you?
From menu - all ok. But on double click still nothing shown. Behaviour must be equal
I'm sorry, as far as I know there is no event for all possible ways to edit an entry (e.g. with F2
)... I think it's not that much of a problem since you can't edit the entries with those methods when the option is disabled.
I would love to see "move subfolder" feature.
I would love to see "move subfolder" feature.
Could be done, but the recursive "refactoring" of affected links to notes, attachments and images would be pretty hard...
