[F] numbered lists - update request
Expected behaviour
It would be great for the Qt widget to support the "ol start=" feature in numbered lists. I asked the Qt development team and this feature has been included in the 6.6 update. Would you consider updating your Qt widget to 6.6 ?
Actual behaviour
Numbered lists work fine unless you insert some regular text between two points. The list then resumes to 1 which is quite annoying.
Steps to reproduce
I type :
- number one some text in between
- number two some text in between...
- etc...
The preview shows :
- number one
some text in between
- number two
some text in between
- number three

Yes, the rendering engine of the QPlainText widget for the preview simply doesn't support that. And I don't think The Qt Company will ever support it.

You can't really update a Widget to Qt 6.6. But you can build and run the app under Qt 6.6. But since there is no ol start= in the HTML, this wouldn't help either.

well, judging by what your preview does, it seems to work. Your 2. and 3. are as expected. This is what I get :

I had a look, looks a little too involved for me. Not much of an expert. All I ask is to keep using QOwnNotes with Nextcloud sync, and with this little improvement that would make life easier :
Then, I guess, you need to wait until Ubuntu updates their Qt version to Qt 6.6 in 24.04 and then wait until Mint is based on that and then use the Qt6 PPA of QOwnNotes. Ubuntu 22.04 is on Qt 6.5 afaik.
I tried building the AppImage with Qt 6.6.1, but I get ERROR: Could not find dependency: libmimerapi.so, that's an linuxdeploy-plugin-qt issue it seems... So we are out of luck there.

The following may not satisfy your requirement, but the Markdown standard allows for text between ordered list items without interrupting the numbering. Just add two spaces at the end of each numbered line item. Here is the code:
