Leaking a ton of goroutines in datamodel/v2 package

Hey,

After a bit of continuous profiling of our application, we stumbled on a leak of goroutines happening in datamodel/v2 package. The leak is found on latest main.

I have created a PR stubbing on the issue. Leaving it open and up for grab & edits.

the v2 data model is no longer maintained, and should be avoided. I have added a note about it to the swagger document.
