How to use Ashot to capure a windows element for desktop application???

In my project, i have a requirement to capture a windows element (gridtable) , but unable to use Ashot for that. For example : I'm using selenium+ winapp to automate notepad, there I want capture text area when we sent keys. is that possible to capture using Ashot?
