Import of pdf results in a large file size

Hi,

i want to import a document with a filesize of 760 kb before the import. After the import the resulting document has a filesize of 2.2 MB. The imported document consists almost only of text and a few pictures. What is the reason for the lage file size? Is there any option to reduce the size?
