@craigphicks this repository is about using glyphs **without** the Mapbox API, e.g by using `"glyphs": "http://fonts.openmaptiles.org/{fontstack}/{range}.pbf"` instead.

@jdeboer-geoplan did you try the following? `-ab` or `--detect-shared-borders` From the [docs](https://github.com/mapbox/tippecanoe#attempts-to-improve-shared-polygon-boundaries): "... detect borders that are shared between multiple polygons and **simplify them identically in each polygon.**"
