realTimeTrends returns random number of results

Hi, amazing API but I have an unusual issue where realTimeTrends is returning a seemingly randomn number of results for results.storySummaries.trendingStories. The quantity depends on country and when I do it. Is this just a quirk of google trends or can I force a set number of results?
