Hello, I have a suggestion for this great extension. I think that this extension is useful and popular since users want to access to workspaces quickly at anytime. There might be other things users want to access quickly at anytime and want to see from all workspaces. There is a space below the last workspace thumbnails and this space can be used for such applications.

In short, I suggest a feature to place the window of a desired application ( such as gnome-terminal or a media application that user can interact) at this space (inside the dock at bottom) so that user can see/access from any workspace. (See the image I attached for a sample view) I tried to check the code if I can contribute but saw lots of things that I am totally alien.

best...

Are you talking about creating a panel at the bottom of the dock that contains app icons? If so, there's already an experimental shortcuts panel (in the Gnome 3.16+ versions) that can be turned on to provide access to all your favorite apps. The panel shows up at the side rather than at the bottom of the dock. Doesn't that basically provide the same thing? Or, maybe I'm not understanding your suggestion.

What I meant above was to place a small app window inside the dock. Consider a dock with 4 workspace thumbnails, but 4th workspace thumbnail is replaced with an app window user chooses. It can be any app such as media control app or a terminal. As an example, see the image above and imagine the terminal (which is running 'top' ) is actually inside and part of the dock. For me this space is ideal for an app that user want to access easily from any workspace. The space is not huge but usable.

I don't know if it is possible since the user needs to interact with this app which is inside the dock (such as typing inside a terminal window).

Okay, I get it now. The app window is running inside the thumbnail. I'll have to do some research on how it can be done. No promises though.

Thanks, I think it would be great if possible...
