SMS Function
We would like to send an SMS to a specific group of students. However, we only have the options listed in the dropdown menu under *group. Is there anyway to add a customized list to those dropdown options? Please advise. Thank you!
Those are the only options available. Are the group of students connected to a particular course or program? Are you looking for only the super admin to be able to send them, staff and/or faculty?
The super admin and staff. The main request has come from the financial staff wanting to communicate with students that have balances and/or paying monthly. They wish to send them reminders of payments. Not sure what the parameters would be to identify that group.
Our academic team would like to communicate with students in a particular course to notify of changes or emergencies.
@BereaSchool With regards to the financial staff, are they looking to send a general balance reminder to all that have a balance or are they looking to send targeting message to each student that has a balance.
We're looking to target message a student that has a balance. The financial staff did not want to send out a blanket SMS because students that do not have balances may get confused or annoyed.
Hi Joshua. We have been trying to send SMS, but they are not going through. The Twilio SD and authentication numbers are correct. Please advise.
Is there an error message that appears? Can you tell me what the error is?
There is no error message. We send the SMS, but nothing happens. I check our account in Twilio, and there is no sent messages.
Hmm, I will need to do some testing. They might have updated their API.
I logged into your account, sent a test SMS (Administrative -> Settings -> SMS), and I received it. Did you try that and it did not work?
I sent to active students and to faculty/staff and none received it.

Should be fixed now. There was an error somewhere else and it caused a domino effect.
