Request support for Pashto

Open mgroeneweg opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

I have read and understood the contribution guidelines.

Special support has been added to generate Arabic text properly in the PDF. When the language is set to Arabic, the special processing kicks in.

Our customer wants to support Pashto as well. Most characters work but some are different. Some characters appear detached rather than connected, probably because these are not included in the special processing done for Arabic.

JS Fiddle

I'm afraid I don't speak Arabic or Pashto, just passing on the test results.

Thanks for reporting this. A pull request to improve this is very welcome.

I understand, problem is I don't know how to fix this. I looked up the old issues @Uzlopak is the real specialist here! Hope you can chime in here to know what needs to be done.

I could arrange for a native Pashto speaker to help.

Is there anything we can do to make this work? We have language specialists available from the customer where necessary. I know there is special handling for Arabic characters. When using Pashto, characters that are used in both languages already work. So that logic needs to be extended with characters specific to Pashto.

Can someone please respond on this issue? I have no idea how to make it work and this is dragging on for a long time now. A few pointers would already help here. Can't understand why I get no reply at all after the initial reply from @HackbrettXXX

Again, please respond. It can't be that hard for one of the maintainers to point out how this is implemented.
