The How it works gif animation thumbnail needs to actually be a thumbnail 😄

It's to way to big: 2880x1800 11.8MB

My cpu fan spins up while just loading the main repository page: https://github.com/paragdiwan/vscode-git-patch and scrolling becomes laggy while the animation is visible in chrome.

Possible solutions

A smaller gif animation thumbnail could link to the full size, but show a warning that it's huge. Or if you have a youtube account, then you might want upload it as a video.
