Gnome shell freezes when logging in after suspend with NFS mounts
Running GNOME Shell 3.36.5, I notice my shell freezing when logging in after a suspend. The freeze does not disappear after a certain time. I can't even access other TTYs. Only solution is a hard reset (even SysReq shortcuts don't lead to a reboot). Note my NFS server remains online even after resuming from suspend. ~~Though perhaps my network connection to the server is lost after resuming from suspend (to be verified).~~ My default route disappears after resuming from suspend, so the NFS server is unreachable from my system. Re-adding the default route, makes the issue disappear.
I narrowed down the culprit to gnome-shell-system-monitor-applet in combination with an unreachable NFS mount. There is #368, but that describes an unreachable samba mount. There is also #350, but that was never fixed. Instead it refers to #496. I created this issue to specifically track problems with NFS mounts, though I suspect the root cause is the same as in #496.
