Fan speed shows 0 rpm until I open preferences
Every time I start my PC running Ubuntu 20.04, the extension works as it should except for the fan speed which continues to show 0 rpm until I open the preferences dialog once.
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 5482 and the fan name in the preferences is Dell_smm - Fan1.
I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 64 bit.
It may be related to https://github.com/paradoxxxzero/gnome-shell-system-monitor-applet/issues/615. I have the same problem with both thermal and fan indicators.
It seems that on Ubuntu 20.10 and 21.04, opening the preferences doesn't solve the problem any more. Sometimes the fan speed is shown and at other times it shows 0. When it doesn't work, the fan sensor dialog box shows "please install lm-sensors". The package is installed. In both cases, opening a terminal and running sensors | grep fan does show the fan speed.
I have the same problem. :( If I type this sensors | grep fan it shows the fan speeds:
fan1: 3663 RPM
fan2: 3282 RPM
but the application tell me, Please install lm-sensors. I have runned the sudo sensors-detect but it did not solve the problem.
