Formatting of numbers in tooltip
@neilstuartcraig asked over at https://github.com/grafana/worldmap-panel/issues/240 to format the value within a tooltip with e.g. comma separators for thousands in order to improve the usability.
I have similar problem, we are representing latency which is reported in microseconds, when it becomes a few seconds the number is extremely large to comprehend for a user, there is UNIT TYPE in display formatting which is used in all other grafana panels which automatically provides the feature to select the unit for the metric which is extremely useful, could you please add that UNIT TYPE feature for primary metric for map panel ? thanks
I found the issue with displaying the rounded value. Not related to Garfana at all. It was elastic search doing it because we hade no defined the types correctly and ES was using the type.
sorry are you talking about this issue or something else ?
@amotl - any ideas here to fix this ? thanks
Dear @vmanju123,
Could you please add that UNIT TYPE feature for primary metric for map panel?
thanks for carrying your specific request over to #55. Sorry that I am currently not able to work on this.
Cheers, Andreas.
At very least I was thinking it'd be good to have a Decimals
setting like the Graph panel has. Then we wouldn't have the possibility of crazy long decimals for smaller values.
Would be really nice to include all the same formatting options (units, k/M/G suffixes), but probably more work for that.
