I can reproduce this issue. The workaround could be to completely clear the storage for the app but then you lose your settings, and this is a pretty easy bug...

yeah it doesn't look like it currently filters based on your device architecture, so if the same apk has releases for multiple device types (wear for wearOS, leanback for tv)...

confirmed this is still a bug in case anyone recently hit it.
