unclear Pagekite versions

I couldn't find any information about which pagekite version is the "right" version. I see that there are 1.5.2 and 1.0.1 versions with simliar "minor" version numbers -> e.g. 1.5.2.200603 vs. 1.0.1.200603 (tags in github

If i download the latest file from https://pagekite.net/pk/pagekite.py I get version 1.5.2.201011. If I follow the source code link to https://pagekite.net/pk/src/ I see only the 1.0.1 versions (and even only the older 200725 release). If I download the debian package from https://pagekite.net/pk/deb/pool/main/p/pagekite/ I get 1.0.1.201011 whereas the package from ubuntu itself is an older 1.5.2 release (https://packages.ubuntu.com/jammy/pagekite)

So what is the mystery behind the 1.5.2 vs. 1.0.1 and which one shall I use? Thanks for clarification.
