AJAX functionality?

There are some great DOM wrappers here -- any chance for getting wrappers for the AJAX stuff as well?

is somebody still interesting on this? maybe working on this? or is everybody happy with affjax? is there any advantage of adding jquery ajax? If there is somebody interested on this, I could start to do something. I think Aff without Affjax makes sense here.
