Hidden folder not visible, unable to add files

You would need to provide more details as it's unclear whether you are not seeing the hidden folder in the standard open dialog or whether you are not seeing some hidden folders that you expect to see in the Payload hierarchy.

In both cases, try using the shortcut cmd + . first.
