Pachli Current is not working for me. After installing a few minutes ago, startup shows the animated wait bar for a few seconds, then disappears. Pixel 4a, android version 13
Sorry for not fully investiging this, but I'm not completely sure where to check or whether there is even a problem. Is there a minimum font size on quoted text?
It is possible it is a non issue, either because I can click through to see the text at full size, or because there already is a minimum, but thought I should ask.
I do for sure like the smaller profile picture and other visual elements which distinguish a quote from other posts.

Thanks. We're discussing that on Mastodon.

@jkingdon
Thanks for the feedback.

When displaying a post Pachli uses three different font sizes, call them "large", "medium", and "small".
"large" is used if you're viewing the "detailed" post -- you've tapped on the post and are looking at in the context of its thread.
"medium" and "small" are used if you're looking at post in a timeline; home, local, bookmarks, etc.
"medium" is used for the post's body, the name of the account that posted it, text on preview cards, poll options, etc.
"small" is used for additional metadata, the handle of the account that posted it, the date/time it was posted, why you're seeing the post (the "X boosted" text that might appear above a post, etc).
If you're looking at a quote-post then everywhere it used "medium" it now uses "small". Everywhere it used "small" still uses "small". The practical effect is that the post's body text, text in preview cards, poll options, is now smaller.
There's no new "even smaller" size for quote posts. Text that was previously displayed as "small" (e.g., the account's handle) is still displayed as "small".
Depending on feedback on this I might change it, so the body text of quoted posts is the same size as the body text of the post that is quoting it.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. That sounds perfect, and the way you describe "small" is a well thpught out implementation of what I was calling "minimum font suze".
The background of quoted posts (as well as link previews) could be a bit lighter when in dark mode. The current shade is too close to the dark app background, so it's hard to see the distinction sometimes.
Quoted posts from Bluesky are not showing correctly. They should show at least similar to regular websites preview. Example below.

That does not get bridged to Mastodon as a post-with-a-quote, unfortunately, even though the original post on Bluesky is a quote. That's why the Mastodon web UI doesn't show it as a quote either.
I don't know if this is a limitation of Mastodon or the bridge, so /cc @snarfed as the subject matter expert.
Hey, sorry for the trouble! Bridgy Fed has supported FEP-e232 quote posts, the original version of quote posts in the fediverse, for years, but we haven't yet implemented Mastodon's newer version, FEP-044f. We'd like to! It's just a lot more complicated, so we haven't been able to prioritize it yet. Background in https://github.com/snarfed/bridgy-fed/issues/1956 .
@badnetmask Yesterday's Pachli Current release uses a lighter background colour for quotes in dark mode. Thanks for the feedback.

Much better now. Thanks!
