Logitech Wheel controllers
I am having trouble with setting up a Logitech DFGT in Initial D 3 export. The first way I got it to work was combine throttle and brake in the Logitech Profiler Software. I was able to map the controls in Demul. However once loaded ID3e and testing inputs I noticed the gas and brake was behaving like a switch not analog controls. also the end points were far outside of the min and max parameters the game was looking for. I believe this is how many people consider the controls are working. As they do work but only like a button. I then switched the Logitech profiler to not having combined pedals. Now setting up inputs in demul became a problem. when clicking on say the setup button for analog up some command automatically enters a code with out touching any of the controllers buttons or sliders. I ended up limited the axis throw for throttle and brake in the logitech profiler to around 70% and had to invert the throttle and brake channel axis. This let me configure demul controller settings, and in game gave me analog control over the throttle and brake. Only issue now is the throw of the pedals go way below the games min input and way over the max input in the games input test screen. I was able to limit the max throw in the Logitech profiler to match the games max input. only problem now is that it takes about half of the pedals range to start applying the control in game. This is like there is a huge dead zone on both throttle and brake. Game runs great thanks Demul team, but analog controls espc wheel inputs need to be better managed. I think some research into what each game is looking for specifically as in data from the potentiometers min and max ranges then create a controller mapper that looks at what info each users controller is sending. then have the software reconfigure the inputs to match what the game needs. I am really not any sort of expert but there seems to be a need for some sort of control translating program.
did you tried go to game test mode and calibrate analog controls ?
There is no calibration in Initial D 3 it depends on fine calibration of the systems pot's. so you use hardware to calibrate the machine not software. I have read the arcade cab manual and there is not configure or calibrate in the system menus only ways to check and test signal. Initial D 3 TWIN Manual_0.pdf
I repeat: did you tried go to game test mode and calibrate analog controls ?
you want to play this game, right ? then why you can't/won't got to game testmode as was told, and see there 'Input Assignments' menu, but annoying me instead?
I have tried that is why I am posting. I am not here to annoy you. Just simply try to make things slightly better. Maybe my menus are different than your menus i don't know for sure. In the Input assignment screens only seem to let you trim the pedal input left or right. This is not like say hard drivin where the game tells you to take foot off brake and press button, then press brake fully and press button. With that type of setup it records the end points of your pedal. Inital D 3 is using a different setup where it only lets you trim the inputs and and looks for set numbers from the pot. If you know something different then please tell me, because I have went where you told me well before making my first post. I am really sorry if I offended you. My sincere apologies.
I made a video to show what Logitech wheel users are dealing with. I am sorry I am probably boring and have a bad voice for this kind of thing. For some reason this time I was able to get analog control with combined pedals. Most of the time combined pedals gives me a digital button control. I don't really know what I did different, but the entire setup is a bit confusing to me with the logitech wheel drivers and Demul. https://youtu.be/kSAO6jTrCeA
thanks for detailed explanation, I'll try to figure out that's wrong there
Ok that didnt end up working in game the pedals were weird had to press brake to let the throttle go automatically. Here is a vid how combined pedals work in game. In combined pedals are working like a switch. see video---->https://youtu.be/uNcC75NRWaM
One more video with setting the pedals uncombined. ----> https://youtu.be/isiPuuFd0f4
Oh and thank you for taking the time to listen and watch my issues! I hope my info makes the demul better for everyone!
Ok sorry for so many post. I found a web site that reads controller output data. I am sure this info may help you. Again thanks for listening to my issues and listen you guys are doing a great job! https://youtu.be/HejwhjXoK9w https://youtu.be/ZeOwZsgFLpY
Just bought a new wheel hoping to play initial d but also experiencing the same issues with my pedals. Did you ever find a fix?
@justsidewayz were you able to get anything working other than switch mode? I currently only have gotten combined to work with my G920 and brake automatically is pressed if my throttle is not. Tried uncombined and binding keys again, and the brake pedal in game test mode seems to not be detected at all
