It has been over 3 years since 0.0.1 release, and it looks like several important updates have been merged.

Are there any plans for a new release?

Seconding this. Especially since this project has recently been added to vcpkg but due to the release history, only v0.0.1 is available. A new release with the most recent updates would significantly improve the port available to users using vcpkg.
