Inlining images within links or next to links shows a broken preview

An image within a link like this:

[![[Google doc icon.png|16]] New google doc](https://docs.new)

Will render in the editor as: Screenshot 2022-01-24 at 10 14 15

While in read mode it shows well: Screenshot 2022-01-24 at 10 14 27

The same thing happens when they are one next to the other:
