Cannot navtiage local storage on Fire TV Stick

I installed on 1.14.1_universal.apk on Fire TV Stick 4K with Fire OS 8.1.2.5. I want to load a locally saved M3U playlist and watch it as VOD. However, I am unable to navigate to the the M3U file. I went to Playlist Management and then clicked Local Storage. Then when I click on Select File, it opens up a file browser showing Recent files. However, using the Fire TV remote, there is now way I can navitage to other folders to select my desired M3u file. The menu button does not work. It only gives me option to sort the files.
