Love your work/app. I have some questions.
Hello there.
I really like this app, on Android/Google TV. I want to ask:
-
I have a different idea when it comes to "Contributing". You describe there to help with code/forking/branching/etc but not everybody is able to do that. My opinion on "contributing" is to ask if you have "ko-fi" or "pay-pal", to show support.
-
(so on Google TV) In RC03, if I select home > the m3u playlist that I've loaded "example.m3u" the highlighted item would be the magnifier glass at the top and left and right would go between the 3 options (search, sort and refresh). Could you make me jump directly below in the playlist? on the first channel/or middle of the playlist so the left and right will already select streams? It sounds like nothing much, but when navigating on Google TV, every key press is important, the less the better.

I assume this app is primarily made for "iptv" to stream the m3u's. I use it for music/radio :) it's really great. Not sure if you intended this but it plays perfectly different Shoutcast/online radios.
3b) This brings me to my questions if I press the "home" button. the radio stops playing cause the app is not foreground anymore. Can you make it a "background" feature in your next update?
3c) Can I add a logo for a radio channel? for example, if I create an m3u file with the below:
#EXTM3U #EXTINF:-1 tvg-logo="https://cdn-profiles.tunein.com/s2107/images/logog.png", FriskyRadio https://stream2.friskyradio.com/frisky_mp3_hi
could you make it pull the picture and display it while playing that particular radio channel? This can also create icons for actual radio/IPTV links within the playlist.
Thank you for your appreciation!
- I am currently employed at an internet company that requires employees to sign a contract restricting additional sources of income. Although I started maintaining this project while I was still in school and have not contributed to it during work hours after joining the company, you understand how challenging it can be for an individual to contend with a company’s legal department. I want to minimize potential risks as much as possible.
- The default focus issue in the playlist interface on the TV version is a known problem. Due to work commitments, I currently don’t have much time to focus on adapting the TV version. However, don’t worry—your concerns will be recorded, and I will address them one by one based on priority during my free time (weekends or holidays).
3b. Background playback is indeed essential, and we will include support for it in future versions.
3c. Please check if "No Picture Mode" is enabled in your settings; if so, please turn it off. If the currently playing channel has no video stream, the player will display its logo by default.
Hi there, Thank you very much for taking the time to write back. Understandably, a job is still a job, which provides constant income.
3c. Wow! Yes, it's working properly. Thanks for pointing that out.
- Lastly, I want to ask about one more thing/feature. I don't like the default GoogleTV launcher, so I've replaced it with another open-source program called "Projectivy Launcher", found here: https://github.com/spocky/miproja1 The idea is that this launcher can have "shortcuts" from different apps. So, the question would be if M3U's favorites can show up as desktop/launcher shortcuts and be started directly from there? In this picture/example, you can see that I've set shortcuts for HDMI inputs, shortcuts for SmartTube recommendations (YouTube without ads) and shortcuts for "Latest Added on Jellyfin": https://photos.app.goo.gl/bsF5ys3vM4CsxX378 with many more app providing this time of shortcuts: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Tui3zxSG7n2WaXFb8 Thank you again, Mihai.
Unfortunately. all of the tv feature requests or bugs are archived and may be solved in the long future.
