Support for multiple OS as clients in system for subsystem
For the workstation part of Banquise, it would be nice to provide possibility to choose OS to be deployed on nodes, based on LTS versions. Fedora, RHEL, Centos, Debian, Ubuntu, etc. Kickstart will be ok for RHEL based systems, but need to provide Debian way PXE install.
Support for Fedora 25, Centos 7 and RHEL 7 will be added first. Need a gateway/masquerading state, as storing the whole repository of Fedora could be too much for only few workstations. Some issues with Debian/ubuntu, to load preseed, will be done in a second step.
Centos and Fedora done. Need to create specific repositories for Salt for these OS, same for repository_clients.
Hello, based on the notes above, how long before you release something for Debian and/or Ubuntu? I would like you use this as a POC. Thanks

What do you need as priority for Debian and Ubuntu ? Deploy via PXE, NFS, and slurm ?
