Button to start/stop service on remarkable
Thank you for your hard work. Do you think, would it be possible to have some button in remarkable to start or stop service? Or it has to be implemented on remarkable side? Thanks again
Hello @mvala; thank you for your kind words.
I guess that, like me, you are fed up to connect to the reMarkable to launch the server :D.
TBH, I am now launching it with nohup ./goMarkableServer.arm &.
The server remains active until the next reboot and the new implementation should be fault-tolerant.
So far I do not have any problem with it, but I do not want to write it down on the README yet. Actually, the process may fail and I do not want anybody to encounter any issue or to "yelp for help " if something goes wrong. Most of the users are not IT specialists.
Once I've added more tests on the server, I may recommend the method.
@owulveryck i also used you systemd service and it is working fine. I was just thinking that there is button for liveview in remarkable. Maybe it would be best to find out what is remarkable running by this command and we can substitute it with systemd service . :)
