TLS client certificate with HTTP backend (HTTP mode)

Can we use TLS client certificate with HTTP backend on iOS client as it implemented for a MQTT? This authorization method provides a very strong level of security. The backend can be easily configured to support it. For instance: Nginx or Haproxy
