Fullscreen mode for pictures

Open PVince81 opened this issue 5 years ago • 6 comments

Add a button for fullscreen like for videos.

Then should be able to swipe there as well ?

Do we still want out control bar there ? If yes, it will need to fade out when unused after a time out.

Might need to be clear whether we want the true video fullscreen / DOM element fullscreen (which has own controls) or a fullscreen that is just removing the browser bars but still has the same functionality.

Also to note, slideshow mode in fullscreen: https://github.com/owncloud/files_mediaviewer/issues/52

I would like to move this back to "QA" as it would cover a requirement at the bottom of https://github.com/owncloud/enterprise/issues/2711#issuecomment-409263587.

@felixheidecke please estimate effort + rough concept

The pictures wouldn't be much larger than they are now. I currently don't see the ROI for this feature in terms of improved viewing pleasure.

  • Full screen would stop the slide show, as fullscreen is requested by the current slide tag.
  • Full screen would take away controls also

Well, it would be nice if a fullscreen mode would deliver images in highres if they are available.

I just tested the Media Viewer app on ownCloud 10.2. The images are definitely too small when viewing in landscape mode on a mobile phone (tested with iPhone and Android). A fullscreen option should be a high priority. Actually, fullscreen should perhaps be the default on mobile browsers, since the screens are smaller, and users are accustomed to viewing images in fullscreen when sharing photos on mainstream messaging apps.
