Databases availability in Sydney

Open thild42 opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

User story

As a customer, I would like to be able to create databases in Sydney Datacenter so that I could leverage this region for my own usage (data at edge, backups, high availability, etc.)

Acceptance criteria

  • I can select the Sydney region when creating a database cluster
  • OVHcloud website is updated with prices
  • Public documentation is updated about capabilities
  • I can filter on SYD region

Scope

The following DBMS are: MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, OpenSearch, Kafka MirrorMaker, Grafana, Cassandra, M3DB, M3 Aggregator, Kafka Connect. The following countries are out of scope for ordering: OVH US.

+1 for spinning up Public Cloud Databases in Sydney. Data sovereignty is a serious legitimate business concern nowadays, so inability to select these regions makes consideration for using OVH a non-starter from this perspective.

I have split the issue in SYD (the current issue) and SGP #547.
