Call window disappear if you switch to another window

This is a very unreasonable and annoying behaviour.

especially if it is a video call or screen sharing

and if you switch to another window, the call window disappears even if it was open in full screen

and if you hover the cursor over the window with the screen sharing, it darkens and the image in this window is hard to see...

It's elementary

• the window with the call should be ALWAYS active
• the window with the incoming call should also be visible at all times. even if I switch between applications, I must be able to open the window like any other
• during a call, if I hover the cursor over the window with a call, its background should not become darken
• it should be possible to make the call window on top of all windows

I have the same problem. I tried the AppStore version and the .dmg version (8.6.228674 Stable). MacOS Monterey 12.3, MacBook Air (M1, 2020)

Same here! I'm using M1 Mac mini and it's impossible to do pair programming when there's no way to keep the screen share window opened... As soon as you click any other window the shared screen / call window closes. Pretty annoying.

Is there a way to fix this?

In case it helps anyone... I ended up installing Telegram Lite (you can find it in the app store - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/telegram-lite/id946399090?mt=12) and this one works flowlessly.

Another workaround is using video chat with single person. This screen does not disappear. But the downside is that you can't actually make a call, just start or join a chat

I can not believe that this issue almost 3 years old. It is soooo annoying, it it is done on purpose - it one of the most stupid decicions

The Lite version has another issue with burnt out colours when someone is sharing the screen with you and blurry images when you share your screen! So, it's also far from perfect... :(
