git Submodules not working

When using submodules in git, it seems like they are ignored.

For example:

https://github.com/UdS-Skripte/Vorlage

Works fine with git clone but fails in sharelatex:

https://www.sharelatex.com/github/repos/UdS-Skripte/Vorlage/builds/b01b201a7a6941b3e8faab124485339a005e401c/raw/output.log

Any plans on fixing that? As there is no other good solution to reusing templates
