At the moment, the names are already saved in the .tox file. It just makes sense to add also the aliases.

I'm not sure whether that justifies to keep it in toxcore. Additionally, the probably most used service toxme.io only supports HTTPS lookups anymore. It's the client's job.

I do not really understand AppImage, is not it just a statically linked binary? Why call it "AppImage" then?
