Allow 'deg' in lat/lon format

Closes #2. Feel like I'm getting into more trouble than it's worth with this one, so I'm leaving it for now. At the moment the code somewhat relies on the absence of alphabetical characters except for N/E/S/W to determine cardinal direction.
