Pick properties of groups

Open anusser opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

Currently it seems that one can only pick properties (e.g., via hitting "q") of single objects. I would suggest to extend this to groups in the following way. Either

  • pick the properties of a group if all objects have the same properties, otherwise don't do anything, or
  • find the common intersection of the properties of the objects in the group and pick only these.

The first point can somewhat already be achieved by ungrouping, picking properties, and then regrouping, but this has two issues:

  • if the group is nested, then one has to ungroup all the way down
  • regrouping moves the group to the currently active layer, where it might not have been before

Have you tried "Edit group" and aborting the edit to pick a property from inside?

Not that I don't agree the pick-function could be more useful for groups.

I indeed always forget about the "edit group" feature. This has the same issue as ungroup wrt nested groups (one might have to "edit group" several times to get all the way down), but it at least keeps the group structure. So, it's better than my current workaround. :)
