[feature request] - DVS integration (Digital Vinyl System)
This request is to propose the integration of a DVS device (Digital Vinyl System) as part of the Ossia Score devices. Their general purpose is to translate audio timecode, generally pressed on vinyl records, into usable TC data. While generally used for the purpose of digital DJing, they offer multiple interesting use-cases in responsive manipulations of sound, visuals, and data in general, using turntables or analogs as a real-time interface. Most TC are proprietary and while available, are designed to work with specific DJ software (Serato, VirtualDJ...). However some appear to be less restrictive in their integration, and it appears to be the case for MsPinky, who also happens to have a dated yet dedicated set of Max objects.

heya! hmmm, right now you should already be able to use LTC audio input, are there additional features on DVS that aren't "just" traditional audio timecode ?
Certainly something I'd like to explore further ! However they are distinct processes.
LTC is not meant to be "bent" if you will, whereas control tones in DVS are designed specifically capture real-time changes applied on the control tones through manipulation. They are either pressed on records, CDs (or easily downloadable. While calibrated for playback at 33RPM, their purpose is to account for changes in the rotation speed of the turntable, as well as reverse playback and most importantly, everything in between (mostly manipulation).
Features are more on the decoding end, with the possibility to use absolute and relative modes. The tone is different as well, generally on the lower end with a mix of two sine signals @ 1000 Hz (one for the left channel, one for the right, 90 degrees out of phase with each other) and a more elaborate noise signal meant to improve signal detection / calibration (don't quote me on that), and that can vary between manufacturers.
super, thanks for all the technical info!
