Describe your problem
Having identities stored in Ory Network presents a risk to an organisation. If the data were to be lost, or Ory suffered some event that prevented access, it would present a huge issue. Ory will have various measures in place to protect the data, and the chances of this happening may be small, but the impact is extremely high. We'd like to mitigate that risk by obtaining backup data so that in that scenario we can self host.
Describe your ideal solution
There is a setting on Ory Network where we can specify for a backup to be made to a location under our control. An AWS S3 bucket, as an example.
Workarounds or alternatives
Crossing fingers and hoping Ory Network never encounters such an issue 😉

Thanks for filing this, agree that it would trust-enhancing to offer this capability (even though we think you'll never need it :)). I'm putting it on our backlog, but it'll require some research on how to best offer this without creating security risks.
After internal discussion, I can affirm that we can provide backups to a dedicated storage if needed. This is limited to enterprise customers due to client-specific setup required.
