**feature request** FTP/SMB support

I'm submitting a feature request.

I use a local media server for stuff like this. Is there any way to allow me to store my notes remotely via SMB or FTP?

@billywade, I understand your desire, but why SMB or FTP? Why not SFTP or rsync over SSH?

Those are just the protocols I'm familiar with. I currently use an FTP server to connect my phone to my desktop, and I use SMB for files because I want my theatre PC to have cross compatibility with Windows and for the rare Windows machine in my orbit to be able to access my server.

EDIT: If you have any guides on how to set this up, I'd be happy to try it.

I can just poke around in my file tree and move the files around as needed with my file manager, so I'm good. Thanks!

Is anyone interested in SFTP support?

Some providers stopped supporting webdav (because mod_dav is abandoned) .e.g rsync.net.

I am a happy rsync.net user and would be happy if there is SFTP support. Otherwise, I need to look for another sync alternative.
