Merge upstream?

I just discovered this by accident. I see there were some issues around django 1.9 in #24 . Is the package up to date, and could this be merged upstream (by yourself or me or someone else) so it's always available on DDT so it's more discoverable?

Hey! It has been a long time since I have maintained this package, so I have no idea if it still works.

I found it really useful at the tine, so I'm happy if anyone wants to try and take this upstream, but it might take some work. It is awful hacky!
