FR: Add hashing option

Would it be possible to add some form of hashing to output (MD5, SHA1, SHA256 etc)? It would be a performance hit so it shouldn't be a default but it would be useful for forensics and other uses. Also could be used to help detect duplicate files (someone in another issue requested that).
