TEB grid indicators

Thk you so much Erwan for your answer. Ok for geoclimate modifications. Concerning TEB, whe you explain that the TEB indicators are computed at the RSU scale, does it imply that is not possible to have this on a grid?

@julienpergaud we have now added some "grid scale" indicators that can be used as input for WRF (cf. #704). Can you check which indicators would be missing for calculations in TEB ?

Hello Jeremy,

For my usage I rescale the vector RSU map into a 100m x 100m (or bigger) grid in .txt. I am currently able to use Geoclimate generated data to run TEB.

For now I use : Building fraction Road fraction (but I identified major issues : airport roads are underestimated, pavements not taken into account...) IMPERVIOUS Water fraction Sea/land fraction building height Free external facade density High Vegetation Low Vegetation

I think that the question must be what could you extract from the different databases ?

Nowadays we could additionally use in TEB multiple parameters but they may not be available in OSM: Bare soil fraction Road traffic (latent and sensible flux, a mean car flux may be enough) Building usage (commercial, residential, ...) Building age Type of buildings Type of vegetation etc.

It may need further discussion.

Thank you for asking, Best regards,

Jean Wurtz

Type of buildings is now available.

We can add

  • [ ] Usage of buildings
  • [ ] Type of vegetation

There is a simple approach in GeoClimate to compute traffic flow. See : https://github.com/orbisgis/geoclimate/wiki/Road-indicators Is this information ready for TEB ?

@ebocher: Do you mean useful ? I suppose the question is adressed to @wurtzj

Hello you two,

Yes this could be usefull for TEB. Especially traffic flow (dayly mean - or more accurate) and mean speed (or other indication of speed)

Thanks !

@ebocher Thus if I understand well, we will need to aggregate some of the road indicators at RSU scale and activate the noise indicator to have this data available for TEB inputs ?
